Picture the Future Picture Campaign is a grassroots movement organized entirely by local youth volunteers. Our goal is to inspire youth to be agents of change and to the raise awareness of children affected by war.

This is a new youth movement is being taken on by the high schools across the city, and is in its inaugural year. The campaign will be a city wide high school competition held during the month of March. Youth are taking pictures while fund raising to support rehabilitating former child soldiers and children affected by war. Youth will also be asking individuals to take pictures with them with a sign supporting the rehabilitation of war affected youth and to donate to support the cause. The pictures taken during the campaign will be collected and displayed as an art project in the school that raises the most money.

All proceeds raised during the campaign will support the Red Cross Child Advocacy and Rehabilitation Program in Liberia. This program provides rehabilitation, education and training to former child soldiers and other youth affected by the recent civil war in Liberia.

This picture campaign is part of a wider Red Cross campaign in Calgary to educate people on the plight of child soldiers.
